My overall year.
Since joining my FD Interior Degree course I personally think I have developed my skills well, I still have issues with a few areas but I plan to improve them over the coming summer. Those issues are in Photoshop and illustrator I actually feel as though I can use these software but not to the ability I would like I know the presentation of my work is vital to showing the quality of my work and to show how professional I can be with it. My S.W.O.T analysis has also helped my progress in my course because it allowed me to figure out what I believed to be my Strengths and Weaknesses so I could then work on improving my weaknesses rather than keep showing the best of my strengths, for the opportunities section I believe that a placement would widen my experience in this sector of work, I have gained quite a lot of confidence in myself in the form of verbal presentation something I would actually quite like to do at a professional level I feel I get my ideas and designs across better to people talking through my work rather than handing it to someone with a report for them to read I feel talking paints more for the imagination. I hope to take all my strengths and my improved weaknesses into the next year of the course and maybe if I get offered a placement take it into that also.

The future of living
It seems as though in the design of living we are going backwards to go forwards, alot of homes and buildings are being built up around or with nature encoperated within it. so are being made purely from the resources found in the area and other are using nature to help fuel the energy they need. The advantages of this are obvious as it decreases the use of unrenewable sources and helps the environment, but on the other hand the aesthetics of the building are lost, in my opinion. I am all for the helping the environment approach but I would like them to be hidden features and not take the beauty of years of work away.

cockfield project
we have been given 4 weeks to complete a design or design for the place to be refurbished if we succeed in a successful design we could be chosen and our idea could be used for the project. after a brief presentation of the area and then a site visit we began the project after several designs and hours of work I created a model and rendered it and these are my favourite rooms of what I have decided to present.

Sugar Bowl residence
This for me is one of the most beautiful homes I have seen in a long while, the the natural wood of the exterior fits in so well to the environment of the forest. The colour and style of the wood remains throughout the interior also this allows a very flowing and aesthetically pleasing place to be. Also the maximum use of natural light is used well by the size and amount of windows on the apartment. overall a well designed place to live

Cloud playhouse
I have always liked optical illusions or things that have you believe they are something else this is a perfect example of that, a mushroom cloud which looks genuine is actually a kids playhouse.

Model making
The most recent project I have just completed is to redesign my own take on a flat for the Park hill Flats, Sheffield. As to making the model in my recent course of 3d design a lot of the projects consisted of making a model as the final piece so I have come to terms with the difficulty of making it. I prefer to hand make the models myself so done the entire thing by hand in future though I would like to use the laser cutter to try out more intricate shapes that were almost impossible to achieve to as high of a standard by hand. these are a few images of my final model I submitted.
Holiday To Paris
During the month of November I had my first holiday abroad. Being the first time I chose somewhere close to the UK and also a highly recommended place for the sheer beauty of the place. I always thought it was an over rated placed did not seem a place could be as beautiful as it gets made out to be, yet the entire 3 days it rained and was overcast but wherever we went It was breath taking.
The architecture of Paris is magnificent the shaped and styling of the buildings and bridges, were very aesthetically pleasing. As weird as it may sound if I had not of know I was holidaying in France and had just been put there the styling of the building remind me of so many films set in France the Whole place felt French if that a possible feeling. After seeing the architecture for real I have definitely not seen all that I wanted of the place and in the near future hope to travel back.

Model and project renders
Through out each project of making a 3D model in sketch-up the most impressive outcome for me personally is the finished renders that really show that you want the client to see. These are some of the renders I have done myself for my own recent work.
